Integrating Pneumatics into a High School Science Program. This successful Curriculum is available for viewing or downloading as a MS Word File. It has been used in many school districts and was developed under the sponsorship of the FPEF by the Birmingham, Michigan schools. You are free to use this curriculum as specified by the copyright.

The Technical Assistant is a DOS based 16 bit program that will run under DOS, Windows 3.1 thru Windows XP

This program consists of three major components: 

• computing the bore size of an actuator and appropriate valve and tubing sizes based on an application. A complete Bill of Material for multiple actuators on one machine or multiple machines is also included.
• solving for cylinders that are operating in other than a perpendicular directions to the load.
• sizing compressors and vacuum pumps.

All of the above include extensive help files that explain the calculations and the pneumatic principles involved. These help files can serve as an effective teaching tool.
