2002 - 2004 Scholarship Winners

Key High School Voucher Scholarship Program

The Fluid Power Educational Foundation has initiated a plan to designate deserving high schools as Key High Schools. There will be funds made available for scholarships for graduating seniors who have successfully completed two years of courses in a systems engineering, engineering technology or robotics program. These courses are to include hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical power transmission and control.

Purpose for which scholarship may be used
The scholarship funds may be used for payment of tuition, fees, books or other costs directly attributed to enrolling in an Engineering or Engineering Technology program at a post-secondary school.

Requirements to qualify for a scholarship
This scholarship is limited to those applicants who have been officially admitted to a program leading to a degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology related fields.

·         The applicant must be enrolled, at the post secondary school, as a full-time student (as determined by the institution)

·         The applicant must be graduating from high school with a “B,” or 3 on a 4 point scale overall grade point average.

·         The applicant must submit a 250 word essay in which he/she will explain why they have enrolled in their degree program and what work-related avenues they expect to pursue after completion of the program.

·         The applicant must submit two letters of recommendation from science, math or technology instructors from classes the applicant has attended.

DISBURSEMENT OF SHOLARSHIP FUNDS

·         A scholarship certificate will be issued to the selected applicant for the amount of scholarship awarded.

·         The certificate will be redeemable upon the Foundation receiving an official document from the post-secondary institution indicating enrollment in an Engineering or Engineering Technology related program.

·         Admission must be made within twelve (12) months after high school graduation.

The FPEF Board of Trustees makes the final decision on scholarship recipients. This decision is final.
