Intern Position For Educational Coordinator

Applicant Pre-Requisites:

bulletWork experience in an industry involved with motion control/automation incorporating fluid power
bulletTeaching and administrative experience at the secondary and post-secondary level

Duties and Responsibilities: 

bulletKey Schools
  1. Monitor existing key schools and their programs
  2. Work with key processors to determine how Foundation can better serve them
  3. Review applications from schools seeking key school status
  4. Working with key school applicants to assist in curriculum development
bullet Scholarships
  1. Review all application and recommendations sent to the Foundation requesting scholarships to determine eligibility
  2. Determine allocations for each key school
  3. Confer with key professors about ways to make scholarships more meaningful to their programs
     
bulletEducational Activities
  1. Develop and implement teacher-training workshops
  2. Respond to all requests for information from schools or industry that are sent to the coordinator or Foundation headquarters
  3. Work with middle schools and high schools to get motion control and automation introduced into their curriculum
  4. Where possible, serve on advisory committees for schools, which have, or are considering, courses in motion control or automation
     
bulletHelp develop meeting content when teacher / industry networking meetings are planned
 
bulletDevelop surveys of Key schools to gather statistics relating to funding requests student and school demographics, or any other information the Board may require.
 
bulletNetwork with high school and college teachers to spot ideas and opportunities to bring to other schools. For example the ideas of using LEGO with solenoid valves was implemented by middle school teachers in Michigan.
 
bulletDevelop curricula for inclusion or modification by any school, such as the downloadable curriculum on our web site.
 
bulletLiaison activities
Serve on the education committees for each of the fluid power associations
